Marcella Burke ’04, Partner, King & Spalding
A native Houstonian, Marcella is the proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2004. She was recipient of the 2004 Buck Weirus Spirit Award and recognized in the 2018 Texas A&M 12 under 12 young alumni spotlight. She recently left the Trump administration, where she was the senior attorney for energy development on federal land. She served in two roles at the U.S. Department of the Interior (1) Deputy Solicitor for Energy and Natural Resources, and (2) Senior Counselor to the Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management. And she also served as Deputy General Counsel of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Marcella recently returned to Houston and is a partner at King & Spalding, where she leads the Houston office of her firm’s environmental practice group. She has three sons whose blood also bleeds maroon.
