Warren Barhorst ’88 – CEO, Iscential

Warren Barhorst is the founder and CEO of Iscential, a Texas-based risk management, insurance, financial services, and consulting firm. In addition, Warren is the author of “Game Plan… The Definitive Playbook for Starting or Growing Your Business” and “Game Plan… The Definitive Playbook for Selling in the Connection Culture.”

Born and raised in Houston, TX, Warren fulfilled his childhood dream of playing football at Texas A&M University before graduating in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution. Warren began his career working for Demag Cranes & Components where he was responsible for working with dealers and distributors in the sale of engineered overhead material equipment. During his four-year tenure, Warren became tired with the rigid corporate environment and dreamed of building his own business as someplace he would want to work. The dream soon became reality and since 1993, Warren has developed Iscential from a scratch business without any employees, clients or sales to today having over 150 associates, 120 million in sales, and a company that is nationally recognized with accolades for its sales, employee engagement, and leadership.

A dedicated Aggie, Warren volunteers his time to Texas A&M University, and serves as a Past President and Past Chairman of Jackie Sherrill’s 12th Man Kickoff Team Foundation, a Member of the Texas A&M Foundation Legacy Society, a member of the Texas A&M Medical School’s Rapport Society, as well as a past 10-year member of the University’s Industrial Distribution Degree Industry Advisory Board, current member of Texas A&M University’s May Business School Advisory Board, and 12th Man Foundation Distinguished Eppright Donor.

Warren’s passion for financial literacy and business success frequently has him presenting from coast to coast, from fourth-grade classrooms to executive boardrooms. He is driven to educate others about how to make wise choices that will positively impact their personal and business financial future.
