“In this ceremony we honor the memories of fellow A&M men and women whose death prevents their answering Roll Call at this annual Muster. The Roll is a symbolic Roll Call of all students and former students whom death has taken from our ranks, but whose memory lives on in our hearts. As each name is called, a comrade will answer: Here!”

This event is free, and all are welcome. While an RSVP is not required, please register below if you plan to attend, as it helps with our planning purposes.

Volunteers are needed the day of the ceremony from 3:30 p.m. – End of Ceremony. If you would like to volunteer at Muster, please email hamcaggiemuster@gmail.com.

Deadline to submit names: Friday, April 11th. To confirm that your loved one is on the list of those to be remembered, please email hamcaggiemuster@gmail.com.

HAMC will be collecting nonperishable food items at this year’s Muster ceremony to donate to the Houston Food Bank. If you would like to contribute, please drop off your items at the designated locations before the ceremony begins.

About our Speaker:

David C. Baggett ’81, Managing Partner, Opportune LLP, and Texas A&M Regent

David Baggett is the Chairman and Managing Partner of Opportune. Prior to founding Opportune in 2005, David was the President, COO, and CFO of a consolidation of construction companies comprising the largest residential plumbing and mechanical company in the U.S. with 6,000 employees in 35 locations. He has over 40 years of professional experience, over 35 years of which have been spent in the energy industry in various capacities, including as an investor, executive officer, board member, and consultant.

David began his career at Deloitte & Touché where he became a partner leading the firm’s energy practice. He left Deloitte to be the Senior Vice President & CFO of a publicly-traded exploration and production company where he sourced and closed acquisitions and accessed the public and private capital markets. David has served on the board of directors of North Star Energy, Marlin Midstream GP, LLC (MLP), AMPAM, Genesis Energy MLP, Encore Energy Partners (MLP), and ERCOT.

David was appointed as a member of the Texas A&M System Board of Regent by Governor Greg Abbott in 2023. In addition, he has served on the Dean’s Development Council of the Mays Business School and is the longest-serving member of its Accounting Department Advisory Council. David was named an Outstanding Alumnus of the Mays Business School in 2011. In 2016, he was recognized by the Accounting Department at the Mays Business School by being named to the initial class of its Accounting Hall of Honor. David graduated with honors with a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University.

David is very involved in the community. He currently serves on the UTIMCO board of directors and previously served on the board of the Houston Methodist Academic Institute, the Greater Houston Partnership, and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Foundation.
